Card Cheaters Face 20 Years of Imprisonment

26 Feb 2009

Tai Khiem Tran together with 13 others admitted being involved in a racketeering card-cheating ring in San Diego. This ring defrauded casinos in California and Canada and got over $1 mln by bribing the dealers and using electronic card-counting devices.

According to the lawyer and prosecutors Tran together with other 13 members used a false shuffle method to cheat such games as Blackjack and Baccarat.

In addition to bribing, the ring used hidden transmitters and special software to predict the order of cards at mini-baccarat and blackjack.

Tran faces around 20 years in prison.
