Gambling Addiction Signals About More Problems

23 Jan 2009

More and more people are showing a concern on gambling addiction and the way it affects teenagers. According to the results of the recent study of the American Psychological Association (APA), more than 74% of people that gamble online fall into the category of "problematic" or "pathological" gamblers.

Due to the fact that most risky are teenagers, this threat attracts more and more attention. Teens spend now more time on gambling online than their parents may even know.

Internet gambling is extremely popular because anyone may play anonymously and play for as long as he wishes. Before casinos became available online players had to go to Vegas to play and kids were not allowed to gamble. Now, as there is no 100% proof method of protecting your kids from gambling online, many teens suffer from this addiction. In addition, at the land-based casino player could spend lots of hours sitting at a slot machine and other players could express concern and even bother him. Meanwhile now the player can be gambling 24/7 without the need of leaving his home.

The legality issue of online gambling is one of the most debatable issues and more and more people that have problems will suffer until measures are taken.
