Blackjack Player Robbed in Treasure Island Casino
Probably, gambling business is not only profitable for casino owners but also for cheaters and robbers. More and more crimes occur in Las Vegas and other big gambling centers.
Jerome Deshawn Misters, 24, from Newport is now facing charges for robbing the blackjack player. According to police, the victim Ronald Garcia was robbed by the group of young people including Misters on May 29 at Treasure Island Casino. Garcia was playing blackjack with the gang at one casino table and later was invited by the robbers to attend the private party.
On the way back to his home Garcia was robbed by his new friends. The robbers took casino chips and cash total worth just $215.51 and left the victim on Grey Cloud Trail in Cottage Grove. The police managed to locate the vehicle of the robbers and indentify the suspects among which are also 21-year old Ashley Ann Lamers and Matthew Dennis Smith.
If convicted, the main suspect Misters who is also accused of intentionally providing false information will face $35,000 fine and 20-year imprisonment.
